REVOLUTIONARY DRUMMER BOY
79" tall x 24" wide

This sensitive sculpture captures the youth and trepidation of a young boy about to enter battle. His New England uniform is patterned after an authentic outfit and sculpted from pine. A separate drum is crafted out of tin, copper, and pine and a verse from an old hymn is inscribed on the pedestal. It reads: “There is another country, I’ve heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, And strong to them that know. We may not count her armies, We may not see her King, Her fortress is a faithful heart, Her pride is suffering. But soul by soul and silently, Her shining bounds increase, Her ways are ways of gentleness, And all her paths are peace.”
