HORSE DRAWN STEAM FIRE ENGINE
60" long x 29" high x 17 " wide

This whimsical piece is built around a set of antique wheels and an old brass bell. The artist asked tinsmith David Claggett to make the top and bottom cans of the boiler and then employed a local blacksmith to forge an iron frame. The team of horses is carved from pine and authentic horsehair is used for the tails. A lathe was used to turn various pieces on the engine frame and two earnest firemen complete the work.
